Those Trees
Those trees, those giant trees
That locked branches with each other
Once lined either sides of the road
Those trees, those noisy trees
We were 'shit' scared to walk under
Homed a crowd of cackling birds
Those trees that dripped water
Long after the rain stopped
Those trees that hid the sun even in summer
Those trees that seemed to
Have stood there forever
Those trees that seemed like
They would stand there forever
Are gone now.
They were sawn across their trunks
And dug out from their roots
Leaving no trace of them
Except in memories.
Well they had to go
To make way to a flyover
There was no choice.
You know? (atleast for them?).
That locked branches with each other
Once lined either sides of the road
Those trees, those noisy trees
We were 'shit' scared to walk under

Season of the Gulmohars
In the season of the Gulmohars
We went out for a walk
Hand in hand together
in silence, no talk.
It was a pleasant morning
The sun was just a blush
It was a day of leisure
No worry, no rush.
Under a brilliant Gulmohar
There was a little bench
On it we sat together
I, my lovely wench.
I drew her into my arms
I just whispered her name
And she said "I love You"
My hug uttered the same.
The time has gone by now
Not all the things are same
but, in the season of the Gulmohars
I still whisper her name.
We went out for a walk

Schorlemmer Cafe
I was sitting there
with a cup of tea,
some strong black tea,
with a dash of lime
at the Schorlemmer Cafe
A nice evening,
a nice straw roof
overhead,
and the ambiance
of the goodbye sun.
Sipping my tea
I was sitting there
on a comfortable chair
at the Schorlemmer cafe
I was sitting there
at the Schorlemmer cafe
with my legs stretched
under the table,
with my eyes gazing
nowhere.
There was no one there
Only me,
my cup of tea,
and you.
You came
like a soft breeze
to the Schorlemmer Cafe
of my heart
and I was sitting there
sipping my tea
with you.
